RIG FOOTWEAR was born in 2019 as a Japanese recovery sandal brand after four years of research into the differences between the foot characteristics of Westerners and Japanese. The sandals are designed to provide the most comfort for Japanese feet. These sandals are perfect for standing jobs, post-exercise relaxation, and everyday use for people with back pain or hernias, offering reduced strain on the feet and back compared to rigid sandals.

The biggest feature of the "nohy" model is its simple design, where a single rope and a single Velcro strap hold the entire foot in place.
To reduce the friction often caused by thong sandals, the area between the toes is designed to be thinner. Additionally, the big toe is securely fixed, providing a firm hold beyond what the design suggests. 
By minimizing the upper material, these sandals offer a natural barefoot-like feel, providing the utmost comfort.
