SUGAR CANE
Carrying a distinctly American name, “SUGAR CANE” is in fact the first postwar Japanese apparel manufacturer to produce clothing for the U.S. market. Founded in 1965 to make garments for the U.S. military, the brand originally supplied products to those connected to American bases in Japan. After the Vietnam War, it shifted toward the domestic market, continuing to create American-style workwear—especially denim—while maintaining authentic quality rooted in tradition.

SUGAR CANE

14.25oz Selvedge Denim – Authentic to the Rhythm of the Loom
Crafted with slub yarns dyed in indigo recreated from vintage dye formulas originally developed by BASF in Germany. A blend of Zimbabwe and American cotton is slowly woven on traditional Japanese shuttle looms.

Finished in a one-wash process for softness from the start, this denim offers the pleasure of gradual fading and patina with wear.

Action pleats and box stitching enhance mobility and create the framework of its classic look. Reinforced cuffs, rivets, and a deerskin leather patch add durability and character, developing even more depth with wear.

SUGAR CANE

A side adjuster at the hem allows for styling versatility.

SUGAR CANE

1950s-Inspired Rugged Box Silhouette
The relaxed box silhouette makes for easy layering while blending seamlessly into modern styling. For sizes 42 and above, side panels are added for comfort, ensuring a timeless form built for long-lasting wear.
