NANGA / HINOC Aurora Down Jacket [Model 2024]

NANGA
Founded in 1941 in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, NANGA is a down product manufacturer that has remained dedicated to domestic production. Using safe and high-quality down, and employing their own unique sewing techniques, they are known as one of the leading brands for winter down outerwear in Japan.

Fireproof Fabric Developed by NANGA
In nature, around a campfire, warmth is cherished. This is one of the joys of autumn and winter outdoor activities. However, it’s important to consider your clothing when near a fire. With nylon materials, sparks can burn holes, causing fatal damage to downwear.

In response to this concern, NANGA developed its own fabric, and the HINOC series was born.

Materials Used in Firefighter Gear
The outer fabric combines polyester and "Kevlar" to achieve high flame resistance. Its main feature is its high strength and elasticity, with added capabilities in flame resistance and heat resistance, making it suitable for use in firefighter protective clothing and gloves.

※ This product uses a special fabric, so it may be prone to pilling from friction during use. Please note this characteristic in advance. If pilling occurs, it can be removed with a fabric shaver.

※ This is not a fireproof material, so please be cautious of prolonged exposure to sparks.
※ While the fabric has water repellency, it will absorb moisture if exposed to water, so please wipe it off promptly.

Urban and Calm Impression
The fabric has a matte texture that gives a more urban impression compared to the usual Aurora Down.

White Duck Down from Spain
With 760 fill power, this down provides just the right warmth for daily comfort without being over-spec'd.

Supple, Soft Down that Comfortably Conforms to the Body
European ducks are raised in spacious areas, stress-free, which results in plump, durable down feathers.

The carefully nurtured White Duck down is supple and soft, comfortably conforming to the body. Its high loft traps air, resulting in excellent insulation, heat retention, and elasticity.

High-Quality Domestic Refined Down with Superior Inspection Technology
NANGA handpicks high-quality raw down from Spain and refines it domestically using advanced inspection techniques. As a result, the down retains its natural temperature and humidity regulation properties, making it durable and free from the characteristic odor that some down products may have.

Commitment to Down Amount
The Aurora Down jacket uses 150g of down, but this exclusive model uses 140g. The HINOC fabric is slightly stiffer than Aurora-Tex, causing a difference in the loft of the down. The 140g provides just the right loft and maintains the same warmth, achieving the right balance between appearance and insulation.

Why We Use the Non-Pack Construction Method
NANGA's down products use the "Non-Pack" construction method, where down/feathers are placed directly between the outer and lining fabrics to enhance design and lightness. Occasionally, down/feathers may appear on the fabric surface or protrude from the seams as a natural result of the production process. This is not a defect.

Size Matters: How Size Affects Insulation
The Aurora Down jacket was recently redesigned with slightly larger sizes, but this exclusive model uses "Japanese sizes." Insulation improves when the fit is more precise, so selecting the right size for your body is crucial.

By choosing a Japanese size that isn’t too large, the jacket maximizes its insulation. This model is available in 7 sizes to meet customer needs.
